Surface Water Quality
Surface water quality is usually part of the fish habitat assessment of any water feature. Water samples are collected then tested using standardized equipment. Measured parameters may include dissolved oxygen, conductivity, total dissolved solids, pH and water temperature.
The Canadian Water Quality Guidelines for the Protection of Aquatic Life (Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment, 2002) and the Provincial Water Quality Objectives (PWQO) were used to interpret water quality data.
