Species at Risk (SAR) Habitat Assessment
Defining the key habitat characteristics and functions of a natural area and specialized habitats for wildlife can provide important information for land managers and approval agencies. NEA can complete specialized assessments for birds, frogs, snakes, turtles, insects and mammals to define home ranges, territories, critical habitat, habitat characteristics and potential impacts. NEA can complete the required General Habitat Description (GHD) mapping and permitting documentation.
Identifying habitat for endangered and threatened species requires knowledge of the species breeding, seasonal and diurnal habits and understanding of MNRF policies that define habitat under the Ontario Endangered Species Act and federal Species at Risk Act.
